On Call 1/30

Last night was really quiet. Office hour was silent, and I probably only saw like 4 people the entire evening. At about 9:45 the phone rang and a C tower resident was locked out because her card wasn't swiping so I came and let her in, and a bit later one of my residents asked if I could look at her door since it doesn't unlock very easily. Aside from these exciting events, everything else was quiet and calm.

On call January 29th

The night began pretty quiet, I spent the office hour fixing the white board with the calendar that someone had so nicely erased the night before. During this time a resident came down and was looking for a space heater, she said her room was extremely and abnormaly cold and that her radiator must be broken. I got her a heater and then went with her to her room to see if it was in fact broken or what. Turns out she was right the room was very cold and not heat came from the radiator. Shortly after I returned back to the office to put her problem in get it, the URI dispatcher called to see if Aldrich had any heat because other buildings were without. I began my first night at 9:20ish and spoke to some residents as I passed them in the halls. During my 11 round I had to knock on some doors for noise issues. My 12 round went smooth nothing to really report from that hour.

On Call 1/28

I think that Thursday on call was one of the most wildest on call nights so far. So my night began well with my office hour. No one really came or needed anything so it was peaceful. My rounds went well. During my second round around 11, there were these group of kids that were hanging around the stairwell and ping pong table area around A tower. I asked them if they were alright and they said they were just waiting for some friends. Next, I retired to my room and my next round at 12 ish was quiet. At around 1:30, it became extremely loud and there were people screaming so I went to check it out. I asked them to please be quiet, especially since it was 1 30 in the morning and told them that if I have to ask them again, I would write them up. At 2am, Valerie came up to me and asked me to unlock her door. While I was making my way down to the office, I found this blond girl dressed in quite revealing cloths, trying to make her way up the stairs. She looked like she was quite intoxicated and I asked if she needed any assistance. She said no so I let her make her way upstairs. I went and go the key. When I returned to the B-tower stairwell, she barely moved. So I quickly went to unlock the door and came back. Now, she disappeared. Quite worried, I searched around the whole building for this girl but couldn't find her. Retiring back to my room, the rest of the night was quiet and nothing too bizarre happened.

On Call January 27

-Not really too bad of a night for my first night on call for the semester. My office hour was pretty quiet I gave out toilet paper as usual. I spoke to girls in A tower about trash in the hall and they had to remove it. And then had to ask some people to close doors at 11. Other than that all 3 of my rounds went well. I spoke to some students as I passed them and had one girl ask me some questions about applying for a job as a RAM for next year.

On Call 1/26

Hey guys,
Things were quiet for the most part last night. My neighbors were watching some movie in a semi-loud manner but quieted down before 11. Otherwise, rounds were uneventful.

On Call 1/25

So last night went pretty smoothly. I pretty much just stopped by my resident's dorms and said hello and asked them how their break went. There was nothing to report.

On Call 1/24

First day of classes... oh boy. Anyway, last night wasn't all that bad. During the office hour someone came and grabbed the broom, and that was the extent of action there. I saw a few bags of trash during my rounds, and did what I could about them. Most people were easy going about it. Also, later on, there were a few open doors and noisy rooms that needed dealing with, but they were also easy about it. During my second round the A tower door was propped with a bag of trash that had something inside which was rotting. The entire bottom of A tower smelled HORRIBLE. It was a mixture of bad perfume, sewage, and really old Chinese food. That's what I thought, at least. So I kicked it outside the door and unpropped it, but when I came back around for the 3rd round it was there again propping the door with ANOTHER bag of garbage. At this point I just took it out to the dumpster, because it was stinking up the stairwell something fierce. Aside from that, it was a fairly normal evening.

Hope everyone is glad to be back!
