Hello everyone, last night was pretty low-key. I had one lockout during my office hour in A tower. Molly hung out with me in the office which was nice. After the office hours, I had another lockout around 9:10. First round was at 10:04, in which all was quiet and everything was fine. Molly's door was open when I reached her area so I stopped in and talked to her again for a few minutes. On my second round at 11:15 I just had to ask a few residents to shut their doors. Round #3 was at 12:06 and everything was peaceful.

On Call 9/28
Last night was fairly uneventful. I gave some residence some TP during my office hour. I did my laundry which was nice. Rounds were routine. Around 11:30 I had to ask a few residents in C and one in A tower to close their doors. Otherwise it was a normal night.

on Call 9/27
My office hour was very quiet I had one student come get keyed back into their room. Other than that I got some work done and spoke to B-chainz briefly when he walked by. I did my first round at about 9:30 and proceeded to do my bathroom checks while I was walking the floors. I spoke to my residents in room C401A about how their weekend was before returning back to my room.
I did my second round at 11 and at this point the building was very quiet. I had to ask a room in A tower to put their umbrellas inside their room. When going through the C201 I ran into a resident and spoke to her about a photography class that she takes like mine. We spoke for about 5 minutes and I then returned back to my room after completing my rounds.
My third round was at 12. I only had to ask one room in B tower at this point to be quiet becuase the girls inside were being very loud. Other than that I returened to my room without any other interactions. It was another low key night in Aldrich!
On Call 9/26
It pretty sure I was among the 3 or 4 people alive in the building. Things were incredibly quiet on all of my rounds, it was actually quite lonely. Its up there with one of the quietest weekend nights I've seen

On call 9/23/09
So a couple days delayed but I am going to recap my on call from wed. It was a very quiet on call that night. During my office hours I had one resident come and ask for trash bags. I made my rounds at 9:30, 11, and 12. The building was very quiet and I did not see any residents around the building at all. The only interaction I had was during my 11 o'clock rounds. I had to ask Room A400A and A400B to be quiet and to close their door. They were really nice and had explained it was one of the girls birthdays and they had just surprised her when she walked in the room. Other than this my next round went smooth and I went to bed.
Hopefully tonight is just as smooth!

On Call 9/25
The evening began with an empty office hour; I saw just a few people walk by the office. Apparently it was a big laundry night since a few different people were doing laundry. Nobody had any concerns while I was in the office. I went to my room and began to fold the laundry that I had done earlier in the day. Around 9:15, a resident showed up at my door in just a towel and had locked himself out of his room in A Tower, so I went and got the key to let him back in. After, I continued folding my laundry.
At 10:10 I did my first round. The only thing that I needed to do on Round #1 was remove a water bottle cap and a small rock from the A Tower door on the inside so that they couldn't be used as props. I did my second round at 11:24, where everything was again quiet. I saw Ben in the stairwell who looked like he was returning for the evening. We exchanged greetings and continued on our ways. The third round took place at 12:05. I had to just tell a couple of rooms to lower their voices. One room was getting a bit too into their game of HALO, so I had to just ask them to keep it down. They apologized quieted down.
For the most part, it was all quiet on the Aldrich front.

9/24
Last night was quiet. On my last round I had to close a few doors. I asked one of my residents to bring out a big bag of trash that was outside of their door and it was gone by 11pm. That is all

On Call - 09/23/2009
Well now wasn't tonight just simply wonderful and entertaining? ^_^
So let's start from the beginning..
At 10:46 I made my first round. Overall it was pretty quiet; however, I did find a pair of shoes outside of a dorm room. I debated whether or not I should have knocked on the door to tell them to bring the shoes inside, but decided not to. I wasn't sure if it was a "sign" or not.
At 11:40 I made my second round. Again, it was pretty quiet. The shoes were gone this time, but then I found a guy sitting in the hallway on the 4th floor talking on the phone. I asked him if he was okay and he say yes and asked if I was an RA. I said yes and finished walking through the building.
At a little past 12, I went around on my last round. Overall it seemed pretty normal, but as soon as I got back to my room, the fire alarm rang. Everyone in the building came outside. Many of them were confused and asked if it was a drill. I met up with the rest of the crew (except Ben) and confirmed that this was not a drill. Everyone was wondering where Ben was and whether or not he came out. I decided to circle around to the front of the building to see if there were any residents there. There were none; however, I did see two fire trucks driving towards us and waited for their arrival. I spoke to one of the fire fighters and told them that I was an RA in the building. They asked me if I knew what had happened but I did not. So then we all waited outside. Eventually the fire fighters came out and told us there was burnt food in A400. I think it was the result of a microwave incident. Well they brought in a fan and fanned out the smoke. Then everyone went back inside and slept happily ever after.
The End ^_^

On Call Monday 9-21-09
Tonight was a little bit of a hectic start. I had a movie night program scheduled for 8 with a movie and some popcorn, so I was running around to get it all set up before 8. When 8 rolled around about 5 residents came down to watch the movie. They really enjoyed the movie and especially liked the popcorn. Following the movie I had to clean the popcorn machine which was not enjoyable at all. It has so many corners and pieces to clean that I was becoming slightly annoyed :)
After that was all set I did my first round at 10. I had to ask a room in A tower to lower her music because you could hear it in the next tower over. When I got to the 4th floor of A-Tower Bens door was open so I stopped and talked to him quick.
I did my next round around 11 and for the most part the building was really quiet. I asked one room to close their door in C tower. When I was finishing this round I checked A100. I was stopping by to ask the residents to close their doors and then spoke to them about the art work on them. Two boys had very creative and extremely artistic doors but they were inappropriate in content so I had to ask them to change it. They were very respectful and funny and told me that they would do a new theme by tomorrow. I checked the exterior doors and then went back to my room.
I did my last round at 12 and at this point the building was very quiet. I did not see any residents and did not have to address any issues.

Tonights on call was very low key. My office hour went by quick. Cynthia stopped by to grab papers for Fire Inspection and we talked briefly. After that I did my rounds at 10, 11, and 12.
Things went very smoothly during my 11 o'clock round I only had to tell two rooms to close their doors and I had to ask a resident in A tower to turn down his guitar amp. Other than that nothing really happened. When I did my 12 oclock round I didn't have any issues. I passed one of my residents on my way back to my room and spoke to her quick about how things were going. That ended the night.

On Call 9/19/2009
So how's everyone's weekend going? So today it seems like 3/4 of the building's residents were missing. Probably went home =P. Well let's see.. honestly, tonight, it was extremely quiet. It felt like there were no people in the building o_0. So I made my first round at around 9. It was pretty quiet. I saw a few residents coming back and greeted them. I made my second round at around 10:30. Again, it was quiet. Lastly, I made my third round at around 11:45. The only thing I had to do was ask someone to close their door. But I think he already knew that he had to since he saw me coming around. Other than that, everything was pretty peaceful ^_^
9/18 On Call
So last night was pretty good. Office hour was quiet. I saw some residents heading out for the night. I introduced myself to C100B and let her know that if she couldn't get in the building, to call the office phone and I'd let her in.
I went on my first round and things seemed quiet, people were getting ready to go out and get wasted, yet I didn't see or hear any signs of drinking in the dorm. Around 10:30 I did a second round and all was quiet. I had to close the A-tower door.
Around 11:30 I did another round, I had to ask C300A to close his door. When I went downstairs by the office, I heard an alarm going off. Somebody had lifted the plastic door covering the fire alarm. I had to call Marcin to verify that all I needed to do was fully close the door and the alarm would go off, and it did.
I was about to go to bed around 12:45 but things seemed to be getting loud. I couldn't really tell if it was outside or somewhere in A-tower, but upon going around the building, the noise must have been from the exterior. I saw a group of people leaving the building, and one girl remarked that she "couldn't see straight." Other than that, things were acceptable. I returned to my room and got ready for bed. Just before I got in bed there was a knock on my door. The new residents boyfriend asked if I had condoms and I hooked him up. He was appreciative and I wished him luck as he skipped off with two Lifestyles. I forgot to offer him the "We're pracitciing safe sex" door sign but its all good.
Enjoy the weekend errbody,

On Call 9/17
Hello all... here is a retelling of the 9/17 on-call.
The evening began slowly, I was in the office from 8-9 and Marcin hung out with me in the office for the hour and nothing really happened. I left and headed to my room afterwards to pass the evening by. Around 9:30 or so, one of my residents asked me if I had a printer she could use, because her's was not working correctly. I did not, but allowed her this one time to use the printer in the office to print out 3 pages of a paper.
After this, I went back to my room until 10 when I did my first round. The entire building was very quiet for the most part. I ended up seeing Molly just as I came through her tower, she had just returned for the evening. One of her residents was playing some loud music and she requested that it was turned down, and the residents complied. We chatted for a tad in the hall, then I left back to my room. I noticed that the garbage near A400 was still there in the corner, something will have to be done about that.
At 11:30 I did the second round, where the entire building was quiet, and the only thing that I found was that there was more garbage (in bags) outside of A201A/B, nobody was around. One of my residents was in the lounge watching TV and studying. 12:05 AM was my third round, everyone was quiet, just had to ask one room to lower their voices a bit. There were no other issues. At this point, around 12:45, I attempted to get ready to go to bed and THOUGHT that I might get to sleep for the night. Apparently, the night had other plans.
At around 1:30 AM, the building got very loud and I had to get up to see what was going on. As I left my room and was walking through the hall, the office phone rang and one of the RA's from Coddington informed me that there had been an altercation outside between the two buildings, and that 2 of their RA's were now in the Aldrich lobby and requested that I come downstairs to help out. I replied that I had to deal with what was going on upstairs and that I would be down as soon as I could. Walking over to A Tower, there were about 12 people in/outside of A300A with raised voices. I confronted them and asked what was going on, about 7-8 people left once they figured out who I was and didn't want to be involved. I made sure everything was OK in the room since everyone was very heated about something and arguing. I informed the remaining people in the room to be quiet; they were disturbing others.
I then went downstairs and the 2 RA's from Coddington let me know what was going on and let me know there was a 3rd RA from their building upstairs further addressing the situation in the B400 suite. We all went up to help her out, and I assume the situation was resolved. Not sure exactly of all the details; what happened in Aldrich was the tail-end of the incident and I just helped manage the ending. The Coddington staff thanked me for my assistance and went back to their building.
As I returned to my room at 1:45 AM, I got back into bed only for the office phone to ring again at 1:50. A girl told me she was locked out so I came down and unlocked her room C200C.
At 2:30 AM the building got very loud again, so I had to go back to the same room as earlier, A300A, and tell them to be quiet because they were disturbing me from my room in B tower, so I'm sure I wasn't the only one who could hear them. At 2:50 AM there were raised voices outside. I left my room again to go downstairs and met them as they were entering the building through the back door of B Tower, and told them to be quiet. One of the people in the group apologized and was trying to get everyone to calm down. I had to go back to A300A, where they were headed, a third time and at this point there were about 15 people inside. They hadn't quieted down from when I saw them just a minute before. I told them that there could be no more than 6 people in the room and that lots of people needed to leave. About 10 or so people left after I told them they needed to. At this point I also gave them a verbal warning about the noise, and told them that if I had to come back again that I would issue written warnings. One of the residents inside told me that he thought he might have broken his thumb, so I asked him if he needed me to call the ambulance or anything. He said no, but ice would have helped. Since I didn't have ice, I just told him to go to health services the next day and they could help him out.
I went back to my room at 3 AM and finally got to sleep around 3:15.

On Call 9/16/2009
Good morning Aldrich^^
So let's take a look at last night..
At around 9:40, I made my first round. Overall, it was pretty quiet. However, I did have to stop by a few rooms in C tower and A tower to tell them to quiet down a little. They were good about it and apologized for the noise. My next round at around 10:50, it was quiet, nothing much to say. At my third round near midnight, I had to ask a few residents to close their door because of quiet hour. They listened and closed them. Everyone was cooperative.
I did have a few lockouts. One at around 11:30 and then two in the morning. The lockouts that I had for the A300 dorms, it was quite a bit difficult to get the master key to work. It took a little bit of jiggling to get in. Other than that, everything was fine ^_^
Have a wonderful day~

On call 9/15/09
At the beginning of my on call I was in the office from 8-9. During this time it was very quiet and I only had one resident stop buy to check out the pool equipment. I did my first round at 9:00 and the building was very quiet. I stopped by a residents room who called me over as I walked by to talk to them about furniture removal and requests. I returned back to the office until the staff meeting began at 9:30.
Following the meeting I had a resident approach me outside of the office to let me know her light had broken in her room. I went to her room to see if I could help her fix it but the chain had broken off the light and I told her I would put it in to be fixed. I did another round, and had to ask one room C201B to close their door. Other than that the building was very quiet.
I did another round at midnight and had no issues until I returned back to my floor to find three of my residents running through the stair well. I followed them to their room in C400B and reminded them it was past quiet hours and they shouldn't be carrying on in the hall way like that. They respectfully apologized and told me they were surprising their friend to say happy birthday at midnight. They went into their room and didn't make anymore noise.
It was a very low key night, with nothing really going on in the building.

9/14 On Cizzall
Whats goin on. Just a brief summary of last night, to spare any readers from my previous post. Last night during my office hour, a resident came to play pool. Around 9 he tells me that there are pool balls stuck inside the table. I found the key to side door of the table, but the keys did not work, therefore the balls are still inside. I'll have to have John work his magic with that.
Otherwise, on call seemed quiet, after the Patriots win that is. Rounds were routine. Saw a few residents and eventually had to close a few doors. It was an uneventful Monday night.
Enjoy your day.
Love,
Ben

9/13 On Call
Beginning with the 8 pm office hour, nothing much was going on. A few residents came in and borrowed the pool stuff and returned it just as I was leaving, so it was timed perfectly. Around 8:45, one of my residents returned to the building and then informed me that the B-tower stairwell smelled of burnt toast. It was an extremely pungent odor. The stairwell remained in this state for most of the evening, and I could not figure out where it was coming from.
I then did my bathroom checks around 9:15, everybody had them done well so it was a good way to start off the year. Doing my first round at 10, all was well and not much was going on; everyone was busy watching the VMA's. In the middle of it, BChainz texted me and requested help with his futon. I politely responded by just showing up at his door, and I helped him out. We briefly chatted about the matters of the evening, and I departed back to my room to wait for the second round.
At approximately 11:15, a resident appeared at my door requesting help with the laundry machines. Apparently washer #3 didn't like his RAM card, so I told him to switch to another machine and it worked then. I did my second round after this around 11:15, and all I had to do was ask a few people to shut their doors.
At midnight I did the third round, which nothing much more happened. I had to ask a few more people to shut their doors. There was a girl sitting on the ground in the hallway in C tower and I asked her if everything was alright and she responded that it was, she looked like she was writing. She said she would go back to her room when she was done. There was also another girl sitting in the hallway in A tower, her roommate was asleep and she still had homework to do. I told her about the study lounge on the first floor and she appreciated the tip. I walked downstairs to finish the round, then upstairs back to my room and went to sleep around 12:30.

On Call 9/12
When my on call began I had a very quiet hour in the office. I had no resident issues and used the time to do some homework. I did my first round at 9. This was a very quick round, nothing was really going on in the building and I didn't run into any residents.
I began my second round at 9:50 and did a slow walk through the building to make sure things were still under control and that all the exterior doors were closed. I had no issues or anything happen during this round.
At 10:20 a resident from room C401A knocked on my door because they had accidentally locked their key in their room. I retrieved the master key and logged the lock out and let the resident back in.
On my next round at 11 I had to ask rooms A301A and A301C to close their doors, and then had to ask room A400C to lower music coming from their room.
I did another round at 12:10 and by this point the building was extremely quiet, it seemed many residents were out of the building. I had to approach room B400C and ask them to keep the noise down, they were playing a game and were very excited and loud.
After finishing up my rounds I went to bed, at about 2:15 in the morning I had to get up and ask residents in my hall to go into a room and to lower their voices. Four of them had just returned to the building and were standing outside C401D being loud. The instantly listened to what I said and apologized for the noise. On my way back to my room I said hello to another resident who i passed on my back to my room. The rest of the night was smooth.

The night that was...September 10th
Hey.
My on call started with watching the film, "11th Hour." Going in to the program, I was hoping for residents to have an hour break in which they could learn about something that is honestly important, our environment. I did a little research and found that 11th Hour was a solid movie that really left you in a state of shock almost. Added that it was narrated by Leo DiCaprio and it took the cake. To my dismay, only one resident showed up on her free will, while I had to gather a few of my A Tower peoples to the lounge. I was surprised that the Scooby-Doo gummies I purchased did not entice the residents. Regardless, I found the movie fairly interesting and made me really question my behavior. Given the circumstances and the fact that residents are busier than I imagined them to be, the program was acceptable.
I then completed my laundry, still upset that I was earlier blind to the fact that if you wash your newly dyed red overalls (for Stewie obviously) every other article of clothing recieves a gift of red dye upon being washed. My favorite sweatshirt ended up in this mess and is currently ruined and on the shelf for when we go paintballing. Either way, life goes on, its just some cotton.
Once I wiped away my tears, I recieved a text from Marcin informing me that there was a sign hanging from the balcony on the second floor of C-Tower. I called Marcin to confirm where the sign was and he explained it was on the street side of Aldrich but wasn't sure if it was the 2nd or 3rd floor. I proceeded to walk outside and saw a small blue light hanging from the 3rd floor of C tower. Below was a sign that read "Free Sex." Street goers were clearly impressed with the sign. I went to C300C and told the group of little boys to take down their sign and light and they willingly took it down, admiting it was immature.
After that mission, I took a round and all was fairly quiet. I was walking up the steps to the 4th floor of B tower when I hear the bumping bass of some Lil' Wayne. I followed to musical notes to A400A, where the residents were in the bathroom getting ready to go out clubbing or some nonsense. I politely asked them if they could turn down their tunes and they happily complied and apologized.
I then came back to the pad, A401C, and began writing this novel. At 11, I recieved a knock on my door from two of my residents. One girl had lost her ID and needed it to go to a party in the Ram's Den. I escorted the two ladies to the office and found the lost identification. The two were thankful and skipped off to their shindig.
My last round was fairly uneventful. I shut one persons door and saw 3 residents returning to C-Tower with a slice of greasy pizza. I then saw M-Dollaz (Molly), who was sporting a white long sleeve shirt, short green athletic shorts and her infamous pink/purple/white sneeks. We chatted about the sign and I confessed that I was writing a ridiculous blog and she wanted to check it out.
She found the blog fairly amusing and so did I.
I brushed my teeth, washed my face and went to bed. It was a good night as an RA.
Take it easy AlBurn,

Molly- On Call
I began the night with my program (rock painting) which was very successful. After I finished cleaning up I began my first round. During my first round the building was under control, lots of students had doors open and were being social within their halls. I had no issues.
Following my first round I had a bathroom lock out on the first floor of C-tower. A student accidentally locked the door when they were walking out and shut it behind them, I was unable to get the door open with the master key so I had to report it to Get.It.
Before I began my second round I had a resident lock out in B tower. Following this I began my second round, which was done at the start of quiet hours, I had to approach room C401D to keep the noise down. Also during this round I had to ask room A400B to close their door.
As I began my third round at mid-night I had to approach room C200A to ask them to keep the noise down because it was past quiet hours. Upon talking this room they informed me that they had lost power on the left side of their room. I addressed the situation and told them I would put in a work order. When I went around the corner to room C201B to ask them to close the door, they also informed me that they were out of power on the right side of the room. I added this room to my rooms to be put into get it for fixing. After leaving C201 residents from C200 sought me out to open the kitchen for them in order to use the Microwave. I stopped what I was doing and brought the girls to the kitchen to use the microwave. When I returned back to C200 to pick up where I left off on my rounds, the resident in room C200B came out of his room to let me know that he too had lost power in his entire room, and that also the Bathroom had no power. I let all the students know that I would address the situation and that someone would be around during the day on Thursday to come and fix it. I offered a flashlight to anyone that might have needed one but the students were all set and content waiting for the power until the next day. I finished my rounds with no other problems for the night.

Cynthia - On Call
Last night went pretty smoothly. First two rounds, there was not much going on. On the third round, I needed to just shut some doors since it was after quiet hours.

On-Call 9/7...
Walking through with Molly and Marcin around 9:30 doing rounds we came across a pile of trash oustide of the A400 group of rooms, had to tell the guy in A400C to turn his music down because the bass was overwhelming, and let the folks in A401A know that they couldn't have their old shower curtain lying in a heap in the hallway (they replaced it and didn't know what to do with the old one).
Round #2 started at 11:10 where Molly and I made our way through the building and encountered nothing major until C401D where 2 alcohol citations and 6 incident reports were issued. Residents were easy-going about the process. Came back to the office, filled out appropriate paperwork/narrative, and got to bed around 2 am.

So On Call Tonight
Things seem quiet as of right now. Office hour was also dead. Looking to keep a close eye on these rambunctious band children.
Peace.

Everything was pretty quiet here. No move-ins, but Sheryl from Housing called and said that someone will be moving in after 6:00PM tomorrow.
